“IT,” which premieres on September 8, is a horror film based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. The title creature is a monster that takes the form of a sinister-looking clown called Pennywise and bloodily kills children in the town Derry, Maine. Seven children, who are all misfits in some fashion, band together to stop the creature. The youngsters learn that Pennywise has been terrorizing Derry for generations, and they face their own weaknesses and dark sides. Bill Skarsgård, who also appears in “Atomic Blonde” plays Pennywise.

The Glass Castle

“The Glass Castle,” which premiered on August 11, is based on the memoir written in 2005 by Jeanette Walls. It depicts Wells’ childhood during which she was raised by unconventional and increasingly dysfunctional parents. Wells’ father (Woody Harrelson) was an alcoholic, while her mother (Naomi Watts) was an equally irresponsible artist and teacher. The family spent a lot of time on the run from creditors – and the parents encouraged their children to view their tribulations as adventures.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is an action/adventure comedy that is the sequel to “Kingsman: The Secret Service” (2015). Both movies revolve around a fictitious spy organization called Kingsman operating in the UK. In the first movie, Eggsy (Taron Egerton) was recruited into the group by Harry Hart (Colin Firth). The titular Golden Circle is a terrorist organization that destroys the group’s headquarters, and the agents of Kingsman join forces with an American organization called Statesman run by “Champ” (Jeff Bridges). Matthew Vaughn directed. “Kingsman” will premiere on September 22.


“Baywatch” is an action/adventure comedy based on the 1990s TV series of the same name. Dwayne Johnson plays Mitch Buchanan, the leader of a team of lifeguards operating in Florida, while Zac Efron plays Matt Brody, a new recruit who had competed in the Olympics. The lifeguards confront both a crooked businesswoman and hostile policemen. Directed by Seth Gordon, “Baywatch” will come out on DVD on August 29.

Blade Runner 2049

“Blade Runner 2049” is a science fiction thriller that is a sequel of the 1982 movie that had been directed by Ridley Scott and starred Harrison Ford who also appears in the upcoming movie. A “blade runner” is a type of policeman who hunts down renegade “replicants” or androids. Ryan Gosling plays a young blade runner who unearths a dark secret that leads him to Ford’s Rick Deckard, who had vanished 30 years ago. Denis Villeneuve directed, and “Blade Runner 2049” will premiere on October 6.
